The following are reflections by attendee Kai Tse, a mixed-media artist who identifies as a
non-binary trans masculine person of Korean/Cantonese descent:
"KQTCon brought so many people together that TRULY NEEDED to be brought together. I felt love and safety in every room at the conference, and the vulnerability displayed by every single person who attended was empowering in itself.
This conference made me reevaluate my place in the world as a Korean, queer, transgender American. I am thankful that my mom had a part in cultivating such a fruitful event, but I am also thankful for all the people who chose to attend something so important and historical. KQTCon will always have a very special place in my heart as a reminder of my beautiful Korean-Queer family and my heritage.
If I ever need anything or anyone, I know that I will always have someone to reach out to thanks to this conference."
